Well Known Herrickville
Man Succumbs
Lyle G. Jennings, 65, well known resident of Herrickville,
Wyalusing RD 3, died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 5, 1977, at the Memorial Hospital
in Towanda. Mr. Jennings had been in failing health for some time.
Born Nov. 15, 1912, in Herrick Township, he was the son of George S. and Ethel Tucker
Jennings.
For many years he operated a trucking service and a school bus route for the Wyalusing
School District. He was also employed by the Pennsylvania State Highway Department.
Mr. Jennings was very well-known and possessed a host of friends throughout the
area.
He was a member of the Herrickville Wesleyan Church.
His survivors include his wife, Wilma Cole Jennings; one son, Richard Jennings of
Wyalusing RD 3; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Jacqueline) Wilson of Wyalusing RD 3
and Mrs. Guy (Donna) Cook of Rome; five brothers, Harvey Jennings of San Marcas,
Calif., Ralph Jennings of Herrickville, Carlton Jennings of Mesa, Ariz., Lloyd Jennings
of Cohocton, N.Y., and Kenneth Jennings of Herrickville; one sister, Mrs. Olin (sic)
(Sylvia) Young of Biglerville, Pa.; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter;
nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the Herrickville
Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Carroll Brentlinger, pastor of the church will officiate.
Burial will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.

Carlton Ward Jennings, 90, of Tempe, passed
away on November 27, 2006. He was a World War II veteran and participated
in D-Day operations. Carlton's interests included woodworking, gardening,
golfing, and cooking. He owned a restaurant as well as 5 machine shops.
Carlton is survived by his wife Elissa Rose Jennings of 32 years, sons
Daniel George (Marilyn) Jennings and Carlton Ward Jennings Jr., stepson
William James (Leilani) Rogers, stepdaughters Rena Jane Rogers, Diana
Sue (Don) Sutton, and Elaine Marie (Ricardo) Jordan, 19 grandchildren,
and 10 great-grand-children. Visitation and services will be held at
Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale. Visitation will
be Friday, December 1 from 5-7pm. Services will be Saturday, December

Gerald Ralph Jennings Name: Ralph Jennings Last Residence: 18853 Wyalusing, Bradford, PA Born: 13 Jan 1911 Died: 5 Feb 2002 Gerald Ralph Jennings, age 91, of Park Place, Wyalusing, died on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at the Highlands, in LaPorte. Ralph as he was fondly known by his family and friends was born Jan. 13, 1911, on his family farm in Herrick Township, a son of the late George Spencer and Ethel Rachel Tucker Jennings. Ralph worked on the family farm and did a variety of other interesting jobs. He was always ready to give a helping hand to friends and neighbors. He enjoyed making frequent trips to Canada with friends to go fishing. He was an avid deer and bear hunter and had a great affinity for the outdoors and country life. His memory remained sharp to the very end. He could recall happenings in Bradford County and beyond from many years ago to current times. He especially like the "Old Timer's Day" event where, even close to 90 years of age, he could recall every old machine or tractor and name the local who had owned it, plus all the pertinent history. His nieces and nephews have happy memories of hours spent with their uncle going on mini trips, flying to view the Pennsylvania landscape, and going to county or state fairs and various community functions. He will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are two brothers; Carlton Jennings of Tempe, Ariz., and Kenneth Jennings of Gettysburg, Pa.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Olon Young of Houston, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Harvey Jennings, Lyle Jennings and Lloyd Jennings; a sister, Pearl Jennings; and a nephew, Richard L. Jennings. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Elwyn E. Patrick, pastor of the Herrickville Wesleyan Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Camptown Cemetery. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. He was born June 24, 1926 in Herrick Township, Bradford County, PA, the son of George and Ethel Jennings. Kenneth was an honors graduate of Camptown High School. For several years, Kenneth operated the family farm as a dairy farmer. Later he moved to the Adams County area, finally settling in Gettysburg. He worked at the Park Service, the Prince of Peace Episcopalian Church and was employed for 15 years at Walmart. Kenneth was an avid reader with a keen memory. He loved history and could recall intricate details of the Civil War and World War II. He was also well versed in current events and kept abreast of world news until his death. For several years, the Yecks and Bosaks of Gettysburg have been his extended family, including him in family celebrations. They were also his gracious and loving caregivers. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, brothers: Harvey, Ralph, Lyle, Carlton, Lloyd; sisters: Pearl and Sylvia. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a good friend and loving uncle. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16th at 2:00 PM from Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, PA.
