William Young.
Galveston -- William Henry "Bill" Young, died Saturday, March 5, 1988, at
his island home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Malloy & son
funeral home, the Reverend Robert C. Barry officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Young was born January 5, 1913, in Vardaman,
Miss. He was a veteran of World War
II and the Korean War, and was supervisor for the rail division of Sullivan
Enterprises.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Young of
Galveston; a daughter, Carol S.Hance of Baytown; three sisters, Lucille Carter
and Josie Criddle, both of Vardaman, Miss., and Myrtle Bender of Spokane,
Washington; two brothers, Thomas Young of Bergenfield New Jersey, and Olon Young
of Roswell, New Mexico; two granddaughters, Missy Short of Houston and Jennifer
Short of Baytown; and a grandson Gordon Hance Jr. of Baytown.
Honorary pallbearers will be William C. Myers,
Melvin Uriarte, Thomas Young and Stuart Miles.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Sullivan, Ralph B.
Gustafson, Corky Merdith, John L. Sullivan, Jay Bottoms and a Gilbert Gustafson.
Memorials may be sent to the Galveston Hospice
Group.
Josie Criddle
Josephine "Josie" Hester Young Criddle, 89, of Vardaman, died
Wednesday, May 19, 2004. She was
born March 2, 1915, the daughter of William Oscar Young And May Callahan Young.
She was a homemaker and member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral service was Friday at 3 p.m. at Parker
Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vardaman with Brother Jeff Gilder officiating.
Burial was in the Elzey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Pee Wee Clements, Buddy Voyles, Lee Tedder, Darren
Tedder, Ned Raymond Cole, Timothy Moss, and Sidney Skyles.
Honorary grandsons were David Hood, Scott Criddle, Aubrey Criddle, Marty
Criddle, Monroe Criddle, Doyle Criddle, Chris Harrison, Richard Criddle, and
Joey Criddle.
Survivors include three daughters, Myrtle Morris and Dale Calhoun City;
Carolyn Williams and Alan, Vardaman; Joyce House and Larry, Water Valley;
five sons, Jimmy Criddle and Mavis, Houston; Glenn Criddle, Grenada; Donald
Criddle and Cora, Houston; George Criddle, Houston, and Gerald Criddle and
Eva, Vardaman; one brother Olon Young Roswell, New Mexico; 22 grandchildren,
two step-grandchildren. She was the
widow Willie Noel Criddle, who died in 1962.

Scholarship recipients at Itawamba Community College for
1989-90 include Joey William Criddle of Woodland, Career Incentive.
Criddle’s high school activities include FFA treasurer.
He was a Kiwanis Club member and
is a Sunday School teacher.
He is the son of William Criddle of Woodland and Eloweese Morgan of Meridan.
