Galveston -- William Henry "Bill" Young, died Saturday,
March 5, 1988, at his island home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Malloy & son funeral
home, the Reverend Robert C. Barry officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Young was born January 5, 1913, in Vardaman, Miss.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and was supervisor
for the rail division of Sullivan Enterprises.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Young of Galveston;
a daughter, Carol S. Hance of Baytown; three sisters, Lucille Carter and
Josie Criddle, both of Vardaman, Miss., and Myrtle Bender of Spokane, Washington;
two brothers, Thomas Young of Bergenfield New Jersey, and Olon Young of
Roswell, New Mexico; two granddaughters, Missy Short of Houston and Jennifer
Short of Baytown; and a grandson Gordon Hance Jr. of Baytown.
Honorary pallbearers will be William C. Myers, Melvin Uriarte,
Thomas Young and Stuart Miles.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Sullivan, Ralph B. Gustafson,
Corky Merdith, John L. Sullivan, Jay Bottoms and a Gilbert Gustafson.
Memorials may be sent to the Galveston Hospice Group.

Josephine "Josie" Hester Young Criddle,
89, of Vardaman, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004. She was born March 2, 1915,
the daughter of Oscar Franklin Young And Hester Mae (Callahan) Young. She
was a homemaker and member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral service was Friday at 3 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel
in Vardaman with Brother Jeff Gilder officiating. Burial was in the Elzey
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Pee Wee Clements, Buddy Voyles, Lee Tedder, Darren
Tedder, Ned Raymond Cole, Timothy Moss, and Sidney Skyles. Honorary grandsons
were David Hood, Scott Criddle, Aubrey Criddle, Marty Criddle, Monroe Criddle,
Doyle Criddle, Chris Harrison, Richard Criddle, and Joey Criddle.
Survivors include three daughters, Myrtle Morris and Dale Calhoun City;
Carolyn Williams and Alan, Vardaman; Joyce House and Larry, Water Valley;
five sons, Jimmy Criddle and Mavis, Houston; Glenn Criddle, Grenada; Donald
Criddle and Cora, Houston; George Criddle, Houston, and Gerald Criddle and
Eva, Vardaman; one brother Olon Young Roswell, New Mexico; 22 grandchildren,
two step-grandchildren. She was the widow Willie Noel Criddle, who died
in 1962.

Criddle earns scholarship
Scholarship
recipients at Itawamba Community College for 1989-90 include Joey William
Criddle of Woodland, Career Incentive. Criddle’s high school activities include
FFA treasurer. He was a Kiwanis Club member and is a Sunday
School teacher. He is the son of William Criddle of Woodland and Eloweese
Morgan of Meridan.

CALHOUN CITY - Glenn Richard Criddle, 70, died Wednesday, Dec. 8,
2010, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He was born June 24, 1940,
in Vardaman. He was a member of Youngs Chapel Methodist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Vardaman United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Harold Robertson and the Rev. John Warren officiating.
Burial will be in Elzey Cemetery at Vardaman. Parker Memorial Funeral
Home of Vardaman is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Richard Criddle Jr. of Mississippi;
three sisters, Joyce House of West Virginia, and Myrtle Morris and
Carolyn Williams, both of Calhoun City; one brother, Jimmy Noel
Criddle of Vardaman; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel Willie Criddle and
Josephine Young Criddle; three brothers, George Criddle, Donald
Criddle and Gerald Criddle; a niece, Tammy Cooper.
Pallbearers will be Aubrey Criddle, Doyle Criddle, David Hood, Jerry
Howell, David Marshall and Keith Neal.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pee Wee Coleman, Jeremy Criddle, Chris
Harris and Timmy Moss.

VARDAMAN - Gerald Wayne Criddle, 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010,
at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born July
15, 1937, in Calhoun County. He was a member of Vardaman United
Methodist Church. He was a Master Mason in the Vardaman Masonic
Lodge.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Vardaman United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Harold Robinson and the Rev. Jeff Gilder officiating.

Creek and Joyce House of Water Valley; two brothers, Jimmy Criddle
of Vardaman and Glenn Criddle of Calhoun City; eight grandchildren,
one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Eva Lynn Criddle; a granddaughter, Shanda Kemp; two brothers,
George Criddle and Donald Criddle; two sisters, Melba Criddle and
Mary Criddle; and his parents, Willie Noel Criddle and Josephine
Hester Young Criddle.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Kemp, Nicholas Criddle, Kenneth Criddle,
Garrett Moore, Terry Dauzat, Jimmy Criddle.

for Mr. Donald Gene Criddle, 58, who died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at his
home near Houston, were held Fri., Dec. 10, 2004 at Houston Funeral Home
with Rev. Jimmy Guy and Rev. Johnny Cherry officiating. Interment was in
Ellzy Cemetery in Vardaman, MS. Mr. Criddle was the son of the late
William Noel and Josephine Young Criddle. He was a retired supervisor at
Kennsington Furniture Company. He was a member of Macon Pentecostal
Church. Survivors include his wife, Cora Mae Nabors Criddle of
Houston; two daughters, Lucy Criddle of Houston and Janice Jernigan and
husband, Karl, of Macon; two sons, Donald Monroe Criddle and wife,
Misty, of Houston, and Doyle Criddle and his wife, Angie, of Houston;
three sisters, Joyce House of Water Valley, Carolyn Williams of Big
Creek and Myrtle Morris of Calhoun City; four brothers, Gerald Criddle
of Vardaman, George Criddle of Houston, Glen Criddle of Vardaman and
Jimmy Cridle of Vardaman and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his parents; and one granddaughter, Dakota Madyson Criddle, who
passed away May 17, 2002.
